Generational Trauma
Brooke Baines, 19, is from the Manzanita Band of Kumeyaay Mission Indians in San Diego. She is on a mission to protect their ancestral land from desecration that would result from the construction of former President Donald Trump's border wall. In this video, Brooke calls to mind what it's like to carry generational trauma, a deeply rooted emotional reality that many young Natives experience today.
